Working With Us

At the Water’s Edge Adventures is a tight knit company made up of a small, high performing team. We generally see many staff return to us but are always on the lookout for new talent and personalities to join our welcoming community.

Although AWE is the newest company in Telegraph Cove, our team accounts for a considerable portion of the experience on the Johnstone Strait. We strive for quality with an emphasis on adventure and offer significant tour customization with many of our guests.

Telegraph Cove is out of the way and at the end of the road. Unless living locally on the north island, it is not easy to commute. Most of our previous staff have lived onsite in our off-grid Staff Accommodation area. Living and working in close contact develops a strong community which, along with the bonding nature of the job itself, plays a large role in the high retention in our staff.

Our standard of living is not for everyone. Although viewed as a glamorous lifestyle, off-grid living comes with challenges. In a small community, each individual’s contribution impacts the quality of living for all. Potential applicants will require not only the passion and attributes for the job, but also for the lifestyle demanded by living and working in a remote area.
