Explore The Incredible Wilderness Of Johnstone Strait

With Tours Led By Local Experts

Johnstone Strait boasts some of the best whale watching in the world. Experience the thrill of kayaking with orcas and humpback whales. Our expedition-style kayaking trips bring you to the wonders of this rich marine ecosystem and deep into the remote Broughton Archipelago, all easily accessed from our base in Telegraph Cove.

All of our guides are fully certified by the Sea Kayak Guides Alliance of BC, are Wilderness First Aid trained and have extensive local knowledge of Johnstone Strait, its wildlife and natural history. They are also skilled wilderness cooks who can whip up restaurant-quality meals in the field and may even harvest fresh seafood (depending on your luck) for dinner.

All our Vancouver Island kayaking tours are self-propelled and fully nomadic; no two trips are the same. Most of our trips do not use use water taxis (covered power boats) to shuttle guests around, and none of our campsites have hot-tubs or turndown service. Instead, we go where the wildlife, weather conditions and paddling are best. We practice no-trace camping on the remote islands and secluded beaches of the Broughton Archipelago. Our expedition-grade gear is the best in the business so you’ll be comfortable on and off the water. We prioritize adventure over luxury.

We offer a wide range of multi-day trips for those more or less experienced. If you’ve only got a short time, we recommend our 3-day tour. If you’ve got a bit more time to explore this prolific coast, join us on our 5-day kayaking adventure or take on the challenge of our 7-day expedition! You’re also welcome to customize a tour and craft your own adventure. If you can dream it, we can create it!

Come be our guest, and experience nature unplugged in Canada’s premier marine wildlife habitat.
